Extensive modifications to the Kuhmo Oy’s sawmill in Finland

Heinola Sawmill Machinery Inc. is providing extensive modifications to the production of green lumber at Kuhmo Oy's sawmill in Kuhmo, Finland. These alterations will enable Kuhmo Oy to diversify its production as well as to handle the sawn timber products individually and more efficiently.
The delivery includes a new green sorting plant approximately 160 metres long, a new stick-stacking plant and several automation systems for the production process. The green sorting plant will be equipped with automatic grading system, flexible cutting functions and horizontal bins.
Engineering of the delivery will start immediately. Implementation of the new plant will take place at the beginning of 2011. The value of the delivery is approximately 7 MEUR.

Kuhmo Oy is a privately owned sawmill, founded in 1955. The sawmill is located in the town of Kuhmo, Kainuu province in Northern Finland. The sawmill's annual production capacity is about 350,000 m3 of sawn timber. The timber comes from the Kainuu forests. The sawmill has a total of 140 employees in Kuhmo.
